Athletes from throughout South Florida, more than 40 states and 12 foreign countries compete annually in what has become the new signature event for the coastal area. It is held each year in February in or around President’s Day Weekend.

Walt Disney World® Marathon Weekend

The Fusion Extreme Team is excited to have a number of our teammates running in the Walt Disney® World Marathon Weekend. Some of our group will be running the Half-Marathon on Saturday to receive their commemorative “Donald Duck Medal” while others have opted to participate in the Full-Marathon for their prized “Mickey Medal”. We also have another group of “goofy” (I believe crazy is a more fitting word) athletes who are making a go at the fabled “Goofy’s Race-and-a-Half Challenge”. These geniuses will run BOTH the Full AND Half Marathons taking home, the Donald, Mickey and Goofy medals! Now THAT’s some serious running bling!

December Holiday Social @ The Dubliner

Our next social event is inked into the books and will officially be The Fusion Extreme Team Holiday Party!!!

WEDNESDAY December 9th we will once again be taking over The DUBLINER in Mizner Park for a little “holiday cheer”, adult beverages and all around damn good time.

In the true spirit of the holidays, we will be collecting new, unwrapped toys to go directly to TOYS for TOTS! Feel free to invite anyone! As always we will get uber-cool drink prices courtesy of our awesome SPONSOR, The Dubliner! Party starts at 7pm!!

Our beginner’s running schedule has helped hundreds of new runners get off the couch and onto the roads, running 13 miles in just three months.

Too many people have been turned off of running simply by trying to start off too fast. Their bodies rebel, and they wind up miserable, wondering why anyone would possibly want to do this to themselves.

You should ease into your running program gradually. In fact, our beginners’ program we is less of a running regimen than a walking and jogging program. The idea is to transform you from couch potato to runner, getting you running thirteen miles (or 1/2 Marathon) in just 3 months!!!

The Fusion Extreme Team hosted their monthly “social” gathering atheir favorite watering hole, The Dubliner in Mizner Park. Keeping with the team’s mission to “Enhance Lives & Change The World”, we decided it would be fitting to choose Soles4souls.org as an additional charity for this months event. We had an amazing turnout and we collected over 40 pairs of shoes for this amazing charity! Instead of throwing away our “gently worn” running kicks, they will now be redirected to people in need. Being a “green guy”, this was not only a great feeling knowing that these shoes would go to people who can’t afford them and truly need them, but it also diverted them from ending up in landfills, where the toxic glue that holds the shoes together can leak into our water supply and atmosphere!

We also received quite a few donations for our primary partner charity, Autism Speaks! We are working our way towards our $60,000 goal! If you would like to help us achieve that goal, please visit our online(and secure) donation page.

We will be hosting our large fundraiser on Saturday June 6th at 2:30pm at The Dubliner. We will have free booze & food along with some killer live music! If you were at last year’s event that we hosted at Gatsby’s, you know that the silent auction items are UNBELIEVABLE. From trips to Atlantis to VIP tables, hotel rooms and limo rides to South Beach’s hottest clubs!

Join Team Fusion for our Seattle Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon and 1/2 Marathon training program. We offer varied pace groups, a customized training schedule and professional coaching for everyone. These programs are customized to prepare you to COMPLETE either the Inaugural Seattle Rock ‘n’ Roll Full or Half Marathon.

Weekly Runs:
In addition to the Saturday long-run, we will also offer weekly training runs every Monday and Wednesday to help maximize your potential and keep you on track for a successful run. We will also offer assistance by offering speed and endurance clinics. Mid-week run times are TBD.

Team Fusion’s Inaugural Run

So we had our first “official” run as the Fusion Extreme Team aka Team Fusion this morning. I have to admit, it was tough to get out of bed and I was hoping Coach Ashley was going to call in a snow day… no chance. It was a brisk 45˙ this morning but that didn’t stop 20 of us from running. We had runners of all levels turn out. From one girl training on her quest to complete an Ironman to the Pizza Fusion crew who were dusting their shoes off after some time off.

We are very excited to get the team going and welcome runners of all experience levels. We will have waterstops set-up for people training up to 20 miles and as little as 3 miles. Feel free to invite your friends and “better halves” to join us! This is YOUR team, so please give us your suggestions and ideas. We will be hosting monthly team events and outings as well.

If you are considering training for the Seattle Rock-n-Roll Marathon, please see Ashley, Lora or Vaughan at the next team run. We are currently putting together a training schedule for that race.
